How we handle your address

Voltfold is not open yet. Until it is, the only thing this site asks of you is an email address, if you choose to join the waitlist. This page says what happens to it.

Who we are

Voltfold is operated by Shubham Shinde, sole proprietor. Address: K Narayanpura, 1st Cross, Bangalore - 560077, India.

For anything about your data, write to privacy@voltfold.com. We answer within 30 days.

What we collect

The only thing we collect from you is your email address. Beside it we keep a few facts about the address, which we make ourselves:

• When you joined, and which wording you agreed to.
• Whether you have confirmed the address, and when.
• A scrambled copy of the code in your confirmation link, so that we can check the link without storing the code itself.

We do not keep your name, your network address, or anything about your browser or device. We do not track whether you open our email or press its links.

Why we keep it

We keep your address to tell you when Voltfold opens. That means one email asking you to confirm the address, and one more on the day we open. We do this because you asked us to, by joining. Your consent is our only reason, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

How long we keep it

• If you do not confirm your address, it is deleted seven days after we sent you the link.
• If you confirm, we keep it until 12 months after Voltfold opens, or until you withdraw, whichever comes first.
• If Voltfold has not opened 24 months after you confirmed, we delete your address then.

How to withdraw

• Use the link. Every email from us has an unsubscribe link. Using it deletes your address at once.
• Ask us. Write to privacy@voltfold.com to have your address deleted, to see what we hold about you, or to have it corrected.
• Complain. If you think we have handled your data wrongly, tell us first. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live. In India that is the Data Protection Board.

Who else handles it

We use three companies to run the site. Each handles your address only to do its part.

• Neon stores the waitlist, in a data centre in Frankfurt, Germany.
• Resend sends our email, from Ireland. It is given your address when we send you a message, and keeps its own record that the message was sent.
• Cloudflare serves this site and runs the check on the form that tells a person from a program. To do both it sees your network address and details of your browser. It handles them under its own privacy policy.

When the site itself fails, a report of the error goes to a fourth company, Sentry, in Frankfurt. We remove email addresses from a report before it is sent.

We do not sell your address or give it to anyone else.

Where your address travels

Your address may be handled outside the country you live in. It is stored in Germany and our email is sent from Ireland. Resend and Cloudflare are companies based in the United States, so it may be handled there. Voltfold is run from India, where the person who operates it can read the list.

What is stored on your device

We set no cookies. If you choose a light or dark theme with the switch at the foot of the page, your browser remembers that one word so that the page looks the same next time. Choosing "System" removes it.

Age

Voltfold is for adults. Please join the waitlist only if you are 18 or older.

Changes to this page

If what we do with your address changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top with it. See also the contact page.
